About Explanimation

Explanimations are short explanatory animations that show how a product, process or service works. An explanimation can be embedded on any website, in the same way that you would embed a Youtube video.

Video content is essential for most websites. With the average web user viewing 186 videos a month, it is crucial to consider video as a way to inform viewers and drive enquiries. Web users are no longer satisfied with wordy, text-based explanations of products and services – they want to see your product in action, and to understand it quickly and easily.

About Us

Explanimation.net is the animation subscription service bought to you by Archipelago. We’re an animation studio based in the UK. Our small (but perfectly formed) team consists of web designers, animators and communicators.  We work with clients in Renewable Energy and Environmental Conservation.

Green Deal ExplainedWe’re best known amongst energy suppliers and building services firms for ‘Green Deal Explained’, which has set the standard for explaining a complex scheme to a non-technical audience in under 3 minutes. The video has been translated into several languages, and has been watched by tens of thousands of people across the UK, ranging from householders to industry professionals.

We’ve ‘explanimated’ tidal energy turbines, coastal re-alignment techniques and an amazing water saving device called ‘Aquasaver’.

We’ve produced a series of short animated films explaining the effects of climate change for schoolchildren in Australia. We created ‘Bernard the Gurnard‘ who campaigns tirelessly (do fish ever get tired?) for Marine Protected Areas in the UK.  Our ‘Randy Pandas‘ help persuade millions of people every year to switch their lights off for WWF’s Earth Hour.

We’ve produced campaign animations for The Shark Trust, The Ocean 2012 coalition and Sealife Centres in the USA, Europe and the UK.  We’re also incredibly proud of our work with a world-renowned US research group to bring the problem of illegal, unregulated fishing to a global audience.

In 2011 we launched Explanimation - affordable, subscription-based explanimations for businesses of all sizes.
